How To Blow Glass

So how do you blow glass?  Is it just like it sounds, do you actually 'blow' glass? It sounds a bit like blowing a bubble with bubble gum doesn't it?  Well, the truth is that you do actually blow the glass just like that, although being that you are blowing hot molten glass, you certainly need to take more precautions that if you were blowing bubble gum.

Basically you gather blobs of molten from an oven onto the end of a tube, then you blow through the tube to make a bubble at the tip in the glass.  The glass will need to be rotated, cooled and reheated so that you can create the desired shape that you are aiming for.

Of course to get great results when you blow glass, you need to learn to perfect the art of rotation.  The glass needs to be rotated carefully, and at the right height and speed, to avoid drooping.
